I love nothing more than going to a new city and discovering their bookstores. I think it says a lot about the culture of the city and their love for books. I would absolutely love to visit the Bider and Tanner bookstore like I can easily spend hours if not an entire day browsing a great bookstore. Great suggestions and hopefully one day I’ll get to Basel!

I love finding bookstores that are older and have a lot of charm to them. I hadn’t considered checking out any bookstores in Basel before so thanks for bringing them to my attention!

I often find myself in bookstores when I travel. I am lured by the curiosity of what people find interesting in other countires. Sometimes, the titles say it all; other times, it’s the graphics and images that present the picture.

I’ve never been to Basel but you best believe Arcados is now at the top of my list for when I make it there!! I love stumbling on unexpected LGBTQ+ businesses and activists things, so I did a little dance when I read about that one, haha!

Oh wow, these are great. I love rummaging around book shops. I’ve been to Basel, but always for work. So only time I had to explore was in the evening or very early morning… so unfortunately always out of opening hours. But will keep your recommendations in mind, if I ever get there during ‘normal’ hours

I still have an ever growing pile of to-read books from my days working in the biggest bookstore in Malaysia, but every time I see a bookstore anywhere, I must go in. I think I will go crazy in Basel!
