Hi Amy,

Thank you for sharing your story with such honesty and strength. It’s incredibly brave to open up like this, and I know it will resonate with and help so many people, whether they’re dealing with Crohn’s or just need a reminder that they’re not alone. You’re truly inspiring.

One of our daughters at the age of 18 was diagnosed with colitis, and since then has been working with doctors regarding medications and a nutritionist regarding diet. She is such a trooper, and such a sweet soul, having to deal with this horrible disease. Your story is full of hope, and you have had such a battle. My heart goes out to you, and thank you for spreading hope, and a positive attitude. Wishing you all the best. God bless you.

Living with chronic illness is tough. Your post was very inspiring though when you talk about not letting it stop you from living. I am trying to do the same. Take one day at a time is my motto. If I have a bad day I write about it and then forget about it and look at the next day as a new day. As much as possible anyways. I aspire to try and always look for the silver lining as hard as it can be some days I usually find it. It sounds like you do too.

There is nothing worse than having to try and convince people, especially your doctor or your family and friends that there is something wrong and them either not getting it or not believing you. It's a horrible feeling. I can totally relate to how it feels. I have spent almost half my life trying to convince people that just because I look fine on the outside does not mean that I am struggling and in pain and/or sick.

Hi Amy,
Just visiting, I love your blog! I am so in awe of what you are able to do and travel! I have not been out of the country, since having Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, but I hope to change that in the next year. I understand about having an incurable disease, it is about management and creating a more functional life. Thank you so much for stopping and I will be reading your blog as well!
Enjoy the weekend!

Amy, I think it is always worth sharing our stories…especially the ones like these. Because we never who they will reach or how much they will help. You are an inspiration and certainly a survivor who is not going to let anything hold you back from enjoying all the moments of your life. I share often about my mental health journey for exactly these reasons as well. I am glad that you wrote this post. Well done!
