I’m so glad Germany turned out so much better than you thought, and how lovely the strangers took you to an ice-cream house, I love stories like these as it shows there are still so many kind hearted people in the world 🙂 I travelled solo to New York and then onto LA but I found the whole experience a bit of a let down, mainly because I lost my confidence and didn’t really make the most of it. I only did the “single” travel once and that was in London. I was there to do an internship at Lonely Planet and ended up eating dinner at the bar at a restaurant. At first I thought that they were rude to place me there but then it hit me… it was valentines. Boy did I pick an awkward day to go :).
