We live in such a big, wide world. There’s so much to do and so much to explore. Yet it’s funny how all of us tend to stick to our own signature travel style. We get used to travelling in a certain way or to certain places, and we tend to stick with it. Here’s how to change that up.
1. Do a Staycation
First of all, you could always consider going on a staycation. Many people tend to do the same sorts of holidays over and over again, but we don’t always think about staying in our local town. Local travel has many benefits. Not only are you reducing your carbon footprint and putting money back into your local economy, but you’re also opening your eyes to things that you haven’t done or explored in your own town or close to home. This can be just as fun as travelling further afield.
2. Go on a Cruise
Another thing to consider is going on a cruise. Again, this isn’t something that many people lean towards. If you’re a cruise lover, then you tend to be a cruise lover, but at some point, if you haven’t explored them, there will be a time to give it a go. With so many different options to consider, from cruises to the Canary Islands or the Caribbean, you can pick something to suit your taste. You’ll then be seeing many destinations in one go.
3. Try an Adventure Vacation
Next, we have the idea of an adventure vacation. If you know that you tend to go on a more relaxed trip, sitting by the pool and sipping cocktails, maybe you want to shake things up and go with something a little bit more active. It could be skiing, hiking, or even doing water sports on a beautiful lake in the middle of nowhere. Do your research and see what appeals to you.
4. Book a City Break
Then we have the idea of a city break. Again, this can be really different and allow you to change the pace. There are so many beautiful cities around the world that it’s a shame not to see and explore them. With lots of attractions, beautiful restaurants, and cultural activities to explore, you’ll find a lot to do over a city break.
5. Take a Sabatical
Lastly, you could also consider taking a sabbatical too. If you’ve travelled a lot or you’ve been on a lot of different vacations and you feel like you’ve maxed out your different travel styles, maybe what you really need is the travel duration to change. If you tend to take a few days here or there, or you go on a week-long or two-week-long vacation regularly, maybe you need more than that. It could even be a few months or even an entire year off. If you have itchy feet and there are things that you’d like to see and do, think about taking some time away from work so that you can get out into the world, explore, and travel to all the places you want to.
